Junior & Youth Program
History
In 1981, Wheelchair Sports SA developed the National Junior Wheelchair Games, and hosted the first, with approximately 100 young people coming together for the first time in Australia and in fact, probably the world. We are very proud of this initiative, which over the years, has seen some outstanding athletes progress through junior ranks and into elite international level. During this time, there have also been many other young people who have had the opportunity to be part of this junior movement within Australia, benefiting in many ways -- socially, gaining independence, participating to the best of their ability and learning much along the way.
In 2009 the games will be known as the Australian Paralymipc Youth Games and will be conducted in Melbourne during the October school holidays.
 Sports
The Association's junior group meet monthly and particpate in a range of sport, recreational and social activities.
